A tragic case of honour killing has come to light, where a young girl was tortured and strangled to death on the orders of a Jirga in Rawalpindi. Police investigations have uncovered shocking details, including confessions from the accused and crucial forensic evidence.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that the arrested suspect has confessed to brutally torturing the girl before ultimately taking her life. The incident came to public attention when local residents heard the screams of women present during the torture — leading to revelations about the illegal jirga proceedings.
According to police sources, the investigation team has recovered the clothes the victim was wearing at the time of the murder. The recovery was made based on the identification provided by the accused. Additionally, an automatic weapon has been seized, and authorities are now probing the suspect regarding its license and usage.
During interrogation, the accused also named several individuals who participated in the jirga that allegedly sanctioned the killing. Police sources confirm that further raids are expected to apprehend those implicated in the illegal tribal council and the murder plot.
In a significant development, the police team that travelled to Kashmir has returned with evidence linking the suspects to the girl's kidnapping. Forensic and digital records of the suspects’ movements to and from Kashmir have also been retrieved.
Investigations are ongoing, with police determined to bring all those involved — from executioners to instigators — to justice in what is being described as a harrowing case of extrajudicial violence under the guise of honour.
